Hi All - As you've seen in prior messages, we've gradually been
bringing on new Sponsors and Affiliates. The benefits provided by
these associates are really at an individual level but can prove to be
quite useful, especially those offered by Marblehead Cycles :-)
However, our most recent partnership is one that offers the greatest
reward and fortunately for each of us, serves someone who is in
greater need. As of today, I've received word on our official
acceptance, along with trademark usage of the LIVESTRONG Unite Army
brand, benefiting the Lance Amstrong Foundation. (the site has been
updated)
The Grassroots application process started a few months back and after
several emails back and forth with Chris Brewer (US
Coordinator) it was accepted. For those who do not know, Chris has
been working directly with Lance and the team since 1998. A cancer
survivor himself and avid cyclist, he was a member of the 2003 Tour of
Hope National Team. You can check out more and read his blog at:

So moving forward, you will start to learn more about different ways
that members can get involved and also some ideas we have as a club.
For instance, there is discussion on setting up an event series in '08
that might involve a set of unique 1 day races (Hill Climb, Fastest 1
Mile, etc) where proceeds would go toward the LaF.
If anyone has any ideas or thoughts that they'd like to share, please
do so by replying to this email or to me directly.
